Waynogamii

I went to a bookshop today, Scrumptious Books in Red Hill, which reminded me so much of my sister Niki’s Kochlias bookshop. Full of beautiful art books, children’s books, lovely cards and a special area for exhibitions.

The reason for going was to participate in a workshop but I came away not only having enjoyed a delightful morning of playing with words and phrases but also enjoying the creative talent of Waynogamii. The exhibition is on June 2nd – 25th. My immediate thoughts was that this was a Japanese exhibition and the artist was a woman.

I love it when I am surprised and upended on my thoughts and expectations. Waynogammi is an exhibition by a bloke called Wayne. That made me smile. Well here is one surprise and the other is his absolute mastery of origami – hence the clever Waynogamii. Here is his website for anyone who might be interested to see a little more of what he does.

It was delightful – from the gentle and heartfelt messaging to the intricate and unique creations.

That is my present to you for today.
