No longer !

An interesting bush walk to two beaches. Greta Beach full of rubbish. We took bags down to the beach to make a dent in it. It’s horrifying to see so much plastic and rubbish in this ocean.

Nearby trees full of birds and a fledgling trying its wings and playing with a fish or stick !

We took the heavy bags back to a collection point and from there we started another bush walk to Dolly Beach. Giant pandanus everywhere.

This beach was clearer so that was great particularly as it is a favourite of robber crabs ! Quite a few came looking for a biscuit and I was excited not only to see them scrambling around but also to see a purple crab.

And once we were correctly tutored we felt confident to pick them up. All I can tell you is that they felt heavy and very strong !!

And to end today a reminder of the force of the water. We were sitting in a rock pool cooling off and a rogue wave somersaulted me and threw Charlie on the coral rocks. Two big bruises for me on a well padded bottom and some lacerations on Cs back. How on earth any first explorers managed to access this inaccessible coastline bears a thought !
