Briefly N Hemisphere.

We are in the old neighbourhood of Hampstead to launch C’s book. Its crisp and bright and I am reminded what it feels like to have cold cheeks.

Nudes at Hampstead Ponds – perhaps a little unseasonal but a beautiful painting of Marie Louise von Motesiczky at Burgh House. Her art and life in Hampstead is exhibited until the 15th December. https://www.burghhouse.org.uk/

Charlie with book

When I have a moment I wander the streets with their beautiful houses and gardens and exceptional doors, some of them weighed down by the years.

I look up to a spire and see them everywhere.

We were invited on a tour of the House of Lords and the House of Commons and Westminster Hall, heaving with history, panelling and paintings. We were in awe of their grandeur, age and significance but our friends presence and warmth is what made the visit special to us.

Spending time with the our young men and enjoying winter temperatures as well as making time for family and friends makes the long trip worthwhile. I lie awake and conjure up my words – the good side of jet lag.

Hi Marina, Best of Luck for Charlie for his book launch. I am sure it will go very well.

Lovely that you made it to the Westminster complex………..I was asked to join them for frame conservation for the duration of the huge conservation project which is finishing after about 5/6yrears for mega conservation work to the buildings, paintings, frames etc. Sadly, as it was a full time appointment, and we had decided to return to CY it was not possible. If you have any pics, do send me some. The nearest I got to work on their frames was in a huge art warehouse where I carried out condition reports on frames which needed cons work.

We are arriving in the UK 3rd Dec, until the end of Jan. I have worked lined up at Tate and also Exeter.

How have you found Helen and Nontas, I try and make it to see them at least once whilst I’m over in the UK.

    1. Hi Suze mou,

There was so much in the Houses – I did not take any photos. The lighting was low in most places too. We spent two mornings with H and N. Both on good form. We leave the UK on the 4th bound for Switzerland. Safe journey to you both. x M
