An Indian welcome.

Arriving in Kolkata we stepped off the plane and looked for an airport carpet. Those who know, know. Instead to our immense disappointment we found tiled floors.

A shiny new airport with an interesting mural… but within, warmly familiar as Cs suitcase did not arrive and a village of similarly clad and smiling young employees all busied themselves with solving this problem for Sir. Sir, I have inform you took it on the chin. He provided many details on carbon copy forms and smiled throughout.

I had just managed to slip through too. At passport control the young woman failed to take photos of me several times and then attempted to fingerprint me. My fingers refused to cooperate and be counted. She rubber stamped me and annoyed waved me through.

We then received a phone call to say the room I had booked had been flooded and the carpet ruined so the nice man was accommodating us in a sister hotel. Elements of bad juju were swiftly erased from from my lively thoughts.

The next morning as I drew the curtain to look out I saw this decrepit building but two windows of immense charm. Flowers and herbs inhabiting their windowsills.

Finally for today our free gift on Indigo.

Welcome to incredible India! We are loving it.
