I owe this blog to my lifelong mate and partner in words Potsie who suggested she might be investing in a pair – and she kindly sent me an article from the Guardian explaining what they are. Here it is:

As an agnostic of these fashion trends I am always aghast at what women and indeed men adopt as fashionable wear. In India, our driver Shiva asked Ant why he was paying money to buy jeans which had tears and holes. The most sensible question anyone could ask. Not to mention our time when the boys were growing up when walking around was challenging as their jeans were hovering dangerously low on their buttocks with views of all sorts from behind. My recent trip to Europe brought me up close and personal with false eyelashes which seem to have grown in popularity for questionable reasons. They resemble the brushes on the underside of my Dyson and make girls heavy hooded and fake. Not to mention the nails and the designs which are growing to such an extent most of them can no longer pick things up easily or press the buttons on their phones. Platform shoes anyone ?

Ok I will acknowledge that once upon a time I wore shoulder pads – that’s it. Reveal your fashion follies here …
