Kedron Brook Bikeway

The last time I was on this path I met the lovely Richard Groom. His family were instrumental in founding Lamington National Park. No such celeb meetings today but some moments of quiet contemplation and sheer beauty.

The australasian swamphen saying are you looking at me ? And then proudly showing off some of the spectacular colours of her front.

Part of (?) the Wolseley Sheep Shearing Machine of London it says here.

I have identified this bush as Callicarpa, an Australian native , aka Beauty Berry Bush – from the Greek of course, καλος καρπος, meaning good produce.

Returning home I walk past a fence which is a work of art in itself as this plant clings and climbs.

I got home and rang Richard. He will soon be 86 – still bikes and it is good exercise for the knees. He sounded well and I was delighted that this walk was my good excuse to get in touch.
