As nature is unfurling and waking in the northern hemisphere so the cooler winds are starting up in the South. The temperatures have dropped, we no longer shun the sun but search for it. The rains are welcome and they come sharply and swiftly from one minute to the next so as I walk in the neighbourhood the colours are more muted, the wet leaves carpet the ground and my interest is directed elsewhere.

To the open doors, people switching off the aircon, and opening their doors and windows for those threw breezes that Queenslanders are so famous for. It is not lost on me that this still happens here and people feel safe and secure to do this and allow me to glimpse into their inner worlds and gardens.
So today’s photos invite just that. A glimpse. The mind can then journey as it wishes. A beautiful dalmatian on a porch instantly took me back to my childhood and the 101 Dalmations.

Occasionally there is one looking out at us – notice her different eyes.

For those anticipating the rainy weather – always well prepared.

And even when the door may be shut the beauty of the lattice work and the carvings invite you to just take another look. Wonder what worlds thrive behind.
