Just for a few days different members of papermakers will be celebrating paper in different ways. There will be demonstrations and works in progress as well as completed art works. It’s held at the Richard Randall Art Studio at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens from the 27th of May to the 1st of June between 10 am and 4 pm. Go along, it is an eye opener for the ways in which these creative processes take place.
I had a delightful conversation with Peter Whitehouse (Wonko)( No idea why he is called that ) who was presenting his origami. It was quite extraordinary and he was so enthusiastic about showing me every piece. . He explained how some of the most complicated ones were done with a single layer of paper meticulously folded over. An absolute art form.He blogs too. http://www.wonko.info/365origami/

Fiona Garrett Benson and Wendy Sonnenburg are both displaying art work there and their creativity never ceases to amaze me. There are many others too.
