Lets start with something humble but so loved. Our own clay efforts at Xmas now on display.

Today I had the opportunity to admire something a little more … polished. It is called earth.water.fire. ‘Feminine Facets of Form’ showcase ceramics, photography and textile-based works by Queensland artists Stacey Morrison, Leila Davis, Julie Martin, Maggie Lipinska, Rachel Dool, Gabrielle O’Brien and Susan Trimble.

I loved Susan Trimble’s creation with finches.

I was particularly touched with her story of the Peacemakers which she has kindly sent me – and so I am reproducing it here:
The story of the Peacemakers is:
“As five Gouldian finches perch atop this vessel, the world continues to perch at the edge of madness. The digital interface that connects us all continues to give space and air for fake news and ugly responses. More than ever we need the balm of the introverts, the wordsmiths, the songwriters, the poets and the dreamers. We need the Artists and the Peacemakers. Kind words and generous hearts entwined in golden thread to mend and repair and hold and protect what we have left.”

Her totems are all unique if you want to explore her art here is her link https://www.susantrimbleart.com.au/

Maggie Lipinskis cheeky Converses with some gold gnashers to chew you up.

These are the ones that are worthy of display. Our many attempts, some of which ended in failures, went back to the earth. A consolation in itself.
