London School of Mosaics.

It’s a little hidden away, behind a block of flats and its facade is a garage door. You enter into a subterranean world. They were once dilapidated garages and now they house art studios, a boxing area, the Mosaic school and much more.

I had the pleasure of doing a whole day with Rada, my mosaic teacher who took me through all the special steps and painstaking work that is needed to create a beautiful mosaic.

The London School of Mosaic, a small educational institute offers a range of mosaic courses, including the world’s first degree in mosaic art.
(LSoM) has created its latest mural artwork, titled “A Thousand Streams”. Located on Station Approach and beneath The Shard, Western Europe’s tallest building. This was a collaboration between British artist Adam Nathaniel Furman and LSoM.

Spanning an impressive 57 metres, the mosaic is the largest commission to date for both Furman and the LSoM. It was brought to life by a dedicated team of volunteers, constructing it in sections.

My day there was full on, intense and fun. Thank you Ant. The bee is for the beekeeper of course.
