1st of June – Winter in Qld

It’s the first day of winter and we are feeling the cooler weather though the days are still warm and sunny and the skies an unending blue. Heading out with Nick for a walk we stop and stare at lots of the amazing plants and trees we came across.

The children from the kindie are showing their love of principles and respect for Indigenous people this week along Ennogerra Creek.

This time of year sees the State of Origin games, a Rugby challenge of three games between Queensland and New South Wales. Last night Queensland won the first game and comments from the team’s captain put the win down to Queenslanders being there for one another. They are – we are – it is a real bond and we see it daily in our little hood. We look out for one another and have each other’s backs in good times and bad. Our neighbour goes in for surgery today and we wish him the very best.

On the walk a house I am always intrigued by. Nature is gradually taking over. Is there anyone home I wonder? What do the neighbours know?

A beautiful walk in the neighbourhood. I wonder about that house nature is reclaiming.

I love this shot of the house where nature is taking over. Looking forward to hearing about its history.
