While in Kofiau we had the opportunity to go on a bush walk just opposite the village. We were looking for the paradise kingfisher.We spotted butterflies and this Green Crested Lizard. A handsome fella.

I walked back to the xplorer on the beach. While there is undoubtedly lots of plastic and rubbish there is also so much life and beauty. As I walked I found bits of coral, turbo snails, clam shells and the beautiful fallen flower of the fish poison tree.

The ship was anchored a little way out to sea. There’s a narrow channel into the village and the opposite bank where we were and we watched children rowing across in small boats.
