A Happy New Year

Xmas is over and the New Year is here. It’s time for some reflection of the year that has gone, forming resolutions for the new one, – there are many gleeful ways of breaking them before January is out -and maintaining a level of health and happiness we all wish for.

My baby butcher bird is taking a moment – to review and reflect. It’s the first time I have seen it sitting on the screen. It seems comfortable and happy.

Wish I could say that about the world and how in a week into this year we see worrying signs of liberties taken, of boundaries crossed, of threats and undemocratic ways to go about dealing with other countries.

Of destructions man made, or by the sheer force of nature. The question is how we come back from them, as people, as individuals, as inhabitants of this planet which we all are.

Easy to lose perspective. We are tiny in the scheme of things but all capable of doing the right thing. We owe it to ourselves and to each other. Let’s make it exceptionally happy for all the right reasons.
