Luminous-A multicultural world.

On a chilly night in Brisbane I went off to the Southbank Parklands where Multicultural Brisbane was putting on a show called Luminous.

There were so many people lining the banks of the river. I stood in the middle of an adorable family with two little ones and an older lady of Indian origin with her son. We laughed and gasped and felt quite moved not only by the groups who paraded past us with pride and fervour but also to read the many signs of the parade. “Refugees are Welcome”, “Lets change the Conversation”, “Diversity is our Strength” and “Together we are Stronger.”

Apologies for the quality of the photos – they were on the move but I will post videos on Insta too !

This is the country I live in.

MARANGI mou, you are very lucky to be living in such a country! The photos are fine, they gave us the message of love, peace & solidarity!

    1. Patsa mou, it brought tears to my eyes seeing all these wonderful groups marching with such messages of love and hope as you say – of being welcomed and made to feel a part of their new country. x M
