Are kids so 20th Century now?

When you board a flight you expect the screaming baby or a toddler tantrum but on our flight to Paris we saw no babies nor toddlers. Instead a very excited pup called Chanel, dressed to perfection and sporting what we in the Greek linguo call a “koukourikos” ( a very dubious hair fashion our mothers subjected us to when we were young when the pony tail was plopped right on the top of your head.) actively engaging with every passenger. Chanel lives in Cyprus with her hooman but was on her way to Paris for a holiday.

Meanwhile in the seat opposite us was Gibi. Gorgeous tiger like pussy cat adopted the previous day but a young Parisian couple. They had been on an Erasmus course and the cat had been abandoned by its previous owners so this young couple gave it all its vaccinations and a cat passport for her journey to her new home. She was fed choice bits of chicken extracted from a sandwich. They spent the whole journey making sure she was fine.

So much in the news these days about population levels falling drastically in various countries like Italy, Japan and Korea… despite government incentives for larger families.

Well I guess pets are marginally less expensive and school is optional!
