Bogged down

Getting excited and the bags are packed. Run a quick programme in the dishwasher to clean things up. More like snarled them up. Machine made gurgling noises, and would not turn off. Manual said consult a service agent. I rang various “on the day repair centres” and all of them said tomorrow. Stress levels simmering. Hubby then cut off water and electricity but fridge went down too, so he found all the extension cables in the house, pulled out the fridge, rigged it to work and cut off the dishwasher. He then offered me an extension cable cup of tea. He saved the day.

A message came in from Uber. A car approached our house and I was ready to give him our suitcases. Nope he was just parking. Message to self. Always check number but it was dark and I didn’t have my glasses. On the up side when he did appear the ride was quick and in no time we were in a deserted airport. They called the flight and I jumped to the ladies before getting on. I unlocked but the door handle was jammed. So I was stuck and I knew there was no one else there. Would Charlie think I had done a runner? Would anyone come looking? Finally a woman came in and I knocked frantically on the door. “I am stuck please get help”. She did and I was released. Charlie bemused by this one.

Things come in threes they say, so I am buckling on tight for the flight. Not all days go according to plan!

  3. Well met M. I would’ve folded at the first hurdle. Must’ve been a great feeling to be seated and ready to fly.
