Tondoon Botanic Gardens

Gladstone’s botanic gardens opened in 1988. They are expansive, over 150 hectares and surrounding Tondoon Dam- an old intake pump station can still be seen. There are 37 sections focusing on various plants and trees. You first meet tall eucalypts covering the area leading to the dam. Loud birdsong.

Cheeky terrapins coming up for a feed.
A dater sunning itself.

A beautiful carved wood trunk and a tribute to all those in the area who reached 100. The Gladstone equivalent of a letter from the late Queen.

Now just looking for the real one as the light fades.

Martin is right. Restos at best average.Lively for sure and people are lovely. As we head back the one and only Nightclub in Gladstone comes alive!
