A day at the beach but with a twist. We were visiting Currumbin on the Gold Coast and the Swell Sculpture Festival – a free event which takes place largely on the beach with sculptures, installations and art works dotting the sand and the road. There were over 75 exhibits so you can easily spend many hours just soaking it all in. I love the creativity, the originality, the pressing and prescient messages on climate and nature and those that take in heritage and humour. So much to admire but here are some of my personal favourites.

Brimming with thoughts and creative processes we headed back to Brisbane but through some interesting backroads which gave us scenes like this. A father fishing with his son in a little tinny. Canvases of colour right before our eyes.
