Cos they are both Special Boys

Today’s post is dedicated to two wonderful men, one lives by my side and the other was the first Prime Minister of India.They are honoured today for their illustrious lives.Both are capable of abundant love. I am fascinated by them in equal measure and whereas the quotes of one are profound and finite the quotes of the other are somewhat cynical but continue…..I have collected a few that I share with you today.

“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.”

How true for all of us living here.

    Marina, dig a little deeper, and you will find that Jawaharlal Nehru (some say, it's Jawaharlal Khan, actually) is a deeply reviled figure in today's India.So far from being seen as the architect of modern India, he is seen today as the villain who laid the groundwork for the patently anti-Hindu policies followed by successive Indian Governments.India and Pakistan were born in 1947 out of a divorce – a divorce on religious grounds. The UN-supervised Partition in 1947 was supposed to ensure that the Hindus of the sub-continent settled in present-day India, and the Moslems in present-day Pakistan. However, Nehru, true to his Muslim roots, ensured that post-Partition, huge numbers of Moslems were allowed to remain on their properties in India itself. The Pakistanis, meanwhile, ethnically-cleansed out any Hindu foolhardy enough to have stayed back in Pakistan after Partition.The Moslems in India refuse to practise Birth–Control, and have multiplied like rabbits.Thus, we are left today with the secular Republic of India, wherein the Hindus bend over backwards to accommodate the HUGE numbers of ungrateful Moslems, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where the Hindus have all but been wiped out of existence. And for all of this, we have Jawaharlal Khan to thank.Hindu_Indian

    A different perspective and thanks for your comment.India, like a lot of post colonial countries had a lot of complex issues to deal with some of them not of its own making but it has dealt resonably well with the multiculturalism and the various religious groups and largely speaking co existence is possible on this huge subcontinent.I appreciate that I am neither a Muslim nor a Hindu and that there may be two sides to every story and one man alone cannot carry the burden of Partition. It was and is a painful moment in Indian history but history is neither static nor rigid and mercifully we live in a society with more than one point of view.
